The Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) has registered total sales of RM443.16 million (US$122.17 million) via its incoming buying mission (IBM) programme on March 31.

The sales came from 2,787 pre-arranged business meetings between international companies and 850 Malaysian exporters from 465 companies.

"The major participating countries at the IBM included China, Algeria, Indonesia, Thailand and Qatar," the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) said in a statement today.

MIHAS, one of the world's premier integrated trade fairs of halal products and services, is organised by Matrade.

The 11th MIHAS event last year posted total sales of RM477.3 million.
