Hong Kong stocks closed 0.10 percent lower on Wednesday, tracking declines across the region and pulled down by falls in China-related stocks.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index shed 24.52 points to 23,356.99 on turnover of HK$73.47 billion (RM28.57 billion).

Chinese shares ended down 0.70 percent, tracking losses in regional markets and led by falls in financial shares and environmental stocks due to profit taking, dealers said.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 16.18 points to 2,309.50 on turnover of 133.1 billion yuan (RM64.52 billion). The index had gained 3.69 percent the previous two sessions.
