The Kelantan Post-Flood Committee will place the flood victims in settlements, to be made under three phases.

Its joint chairman, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said the first phase involves the immediate placement of victims made homeless by the floods.

"The second is to provide transit settlements while the third phase involves permanent settlements.

"Among the forms of transit settlements are the 21 transit house models donated by the Terengganu government and rental of shophouses," he said after inspecting the temporary settlement in Bandar Utama Gua Musang, here today.

The settlement which can accommodate 100 families at one time is developed by the National Security Council, the state government and non-governmental organisations (NGOs),

It is equipped with basic facilities such as toilets, washing places, water supply and electricity using solar energy.
