The operations of 88 electrical substations in Perak, which were suspended due to recent floods, have been fully restored at 8am today.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Distribution Division senior general manager (Operations, Region 2) Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid said several electrical substations in Perak, Kelantan and Pahang were suspended for safety reasons following floods in the country.

In Kelantan, 98 percent of power supply had been restored with 1,937 of the 1,960 affected substations back in order.

So far, TNB's technical team is working to restore 23 other substations, which includes 12 in Kuala Krai, 10 in Gua Musang and one in Jeli.

"With the favourable weather we've been having, TNB can continue repairs on the remaining 26 electrical substations in Pahang and Kelantan," he said in a statement today.

He said electricity supply was also restored in Pahang, with only three substations not yet restored out of the 585 substations which were suspended.

"The three substations in Jerantut are located in Balak, Monggol dan Kg Gusai where lines were damaged by fallen trees and branches," he added.
