As Malaysia pushes forward with its ambitious economic plans, one of the key focal points this year is the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JSSEZ). Positioned to become a major hub for cross-border investments, the JSSEZ is set to drive growth in southern Malaysia, leveraging Johor’s strategic location. At the heart of this transformation is CIMB Bank, playing a critical role in financing and shaping the future of this vibrant economic zone. Based on the master plan, the target is to develop the area into an integrated zone for medical, tourism, education and real estate.

The Indonesian government has received proposals to establish seven new special economic zones (SEZs).

Datuk Amirudin Shari said that the initiative, involving four cities in the state, namely Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang.

The JS-SEZ is expected to further boost trade between Johor and Singapore.
