New Zealand has overturned laws that would have banned the sale of cigarettes to future generations, the government said on Thursday, reported German news agency (dpa).

The questions of law proposed by the seven individuals did not meet the threshold requirement, said Justice Zabariah Mohd Yusof.

The notices were issued under Section 32B of the Control of Tobacco Products Regulations 2004.
