Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said that if the Perikatan Nasional (PN)-BN-PBS alliance was to win in the coming Sabah state election, a snap general election would not be far away.

“The signal must be given by Sabahans that ‘we support PN, we want Muhyiddin to continue to be prime minister'. We want Malaysia to move forward and be successful and the only way to be successful is to be with me,” Muhyiddin said in a ceramah at Pintasan, Kota Belud today.

Sabah Umno leaders Bung Moktar Radin and Abdul Rahman Dahlan appear to have put their disagreements aside ahead of the Sabah state elections, which is set to take place at the end of the month.

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who witnessed the reconciliation, shared a photograph of him posing with the two leaders, beaming with joy.

PKR president Anwar Ibrahim said his party would be using its own logo in the upcoming Sabah state elections, despite an earlier suggestion for political parties aligned to Warisan to contest in the elections using the Warisan logo.  

Previously, Amanah Youth had proposed that parties aligned to Warisan should contest in the Sabah state elections using the Warisan logo.

However, PKR Sabah had rejected Amanah's suggestion, calling it "regressive" and "not strategic".

PKR Sabah said the proposal was very inappropriate and it was akin to telling Umno to use the Bersatu logo.

Voter turnout will be crucial in determining the outcome of the Melaka state election.

BN and PN will be in the same coalition to face GE15, so there will be no three-cornered contests later.

The report from the poll states that a total of 62 per cent of respondents agree that there are moral problems among political leaders.

It has been a year, issues on COVID-19 pose a main challenge to the country, not only in terms of health, but its impact on the economy.

Tun Faisal said the points of difference of opinion became more significant when facing the Sabah State Election last November.

"Based on our experience during the Sabah state election, COVID-19 will continue to spread if the GE15 is held," said Dr Mahathir.

Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin will table a proposal on the formation of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) presidential council at a meeting on Jan 11 next year.

According to Muhyiddin, he is optimistic that PN will be accepted by the people following the recent victory in the Sabah State Election.

The consent of His Majesty was given based on the lessons and experience of the Sabah state election.

Dr Noor Hisham said he had gone to the state at the end of August to check on the management and preparations for the Sabah state elections.

Datuk Dr Ahmad Masrizal Mohamad is currently undergoing treatment at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Election Commission (EC) chairman Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh today confirmed that three of its officers who were on duty in the Sabah state election have tested positive for COVID-19.
