"That's our last intake. After it's all dry you go catch fish (with your hands) at Sungai Pulau Pinang," he said.

The state governments of Penang and Perak have agreed to refer the issue of obtaining raw water supply from Sungai Perak under the SPRWTS to KASA for resolution.

Perak is unable to supply raw water from Sungai Perak as proposed under the Sungai Perak Raw Water Transfer Scheme (SPRWTS) to Penang.

The water disruption was due to valve replacement works at the raw water pipeline from the Klang Gates Dam, causing a temporary shut down.

The Kedah government still insists on raw water supply charge to be imposed on Penang, even if the matter is brought to the federal government to be solved.

The Penang state government is prepared to see Kedah Menteri Besar, Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor in court over the raw water charge issue in protecting the state's riparian water rights.

The Kedah state government can take the raw water charge issue against Penang to court if the matter could not be resolved.

Muhammad Sanusi said when there are costs for the maintenance of resources, it is only right that they are also borne by Penang.

LUAS squad will monitor 24-hours to prevent the pollution of water resources and minimise downtime risks at Water Treatment Plant.
