Business is as usual for Mount Kinabalu climbing activities despite a weak earthquake occurring in Ranau this morning.

A weak earthquake with magnitude 2.6 on the Richter scale occurred near Ranau, Sabah at 11.39pm last night.

A weak earthquake, measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale, occurred about 11km west of Ranau, at 5.54pm today.

It registered a moderate 5.9 on the Richter scale, but the Ranau earthquake on June 5 came as a 2015 shock for Sabah and the nation.

Although weak, measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale, tremors were still felt in Ranau, the Meteorological Department says.
