The modern Scandinavian furniture industry will be under the spotlight next month, thanks to a special exhibition at the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair.

"Inside Scandinavian Design" will look at the innovation, craftsmanship and the close relationship between construction and production in creating iconic furniture pieces while examining topics such as the landscape of production and environmental issues.

The show, a collaboration between the fair and the Swedish Federation of Wood and Furniture (TMF), will be curated by the design duo Färg & Blanche.

It follows the creation of a product from the initial idea to its realization, covering the process of design, development and production.

The exhibition will take place within a wooden pavilion, giving the visitor the feeling of stepping into a large furniture structure.

"With this exhibition we want to show the customer that there is so much more behind a piece of furniture than what can be see with the naked eye," says Cecilia Ask Engström, Head of Industry Development at TMF.

"Inside Scandinavian Design" will go on show at the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair February 3-7.
