Passion leads man to spend thousands on Star Wars Lego sets

Passion leads a father of two to spend up to RM20000 since December last year on Star Wars Lego sets.

As a civil servant, Muhd Faizul Ismail, 32, said he never regretted spending so much money to buy the Star Wars Lego sets, which were deemed the most expensive in the market.

"For me, it's the satisfaction for being able to completely build or assemble a Lego set, which can be so complex, that matters most.

"Although the process is quite challenging and mind boggling, it is actually very good as it helps develop a more creative mind and it is also a suitable hobby for all ages," the passionate collector told Bernama.

Muhd Faizul was among the exhibitors at the KL Brick Festival and Toy Collectors' Fair held at the KL City Hall Training Institute here Sunday.

Muhd Faizul said the most difficult set he ever built was the Star Wars spaceship known as the Millennium Falcon, which is 26.7- long and involves over 50,000 Lego parts.

He said 50 of his completed Lego sets were being showcased at the , which was held in conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur Design Month 2015.

Event manager Mohammad Zahri Latif said among the Lego sets showcase at the one-day event famous cartoon characters and film paraphernalia, such as from the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings series.

"As noon, we have given away 400 mini Lego sets to those who made to attend the ," he said.
