London attracted more international tourists in 2015 compared to its rival Paris, which recorded a dip in visits following two separate terrorist attacks.

According to the latest figures from European Cities Marketing, a not-for-profit group that works to promote the region, London was the most popular city among international visitors last year, followed by Paris, Rome, Barcelona and Prague.

While visitor number to London remained stable, Paris posted a dip of 2 percent.

In the top 10 list, Madrid also recorded the highest spike in international visits with an increase of 13 percent in 2015 compared to the previous year.

Germany, the US and the UK are the biggest source markets for international tourists.
