Hotel offers special packages for new year

The Grand Riverview Hotel here is offering two special packages -- accommodation and dinner -- for its guests to usher in the new year.

Its Sales Director Muhammad Azrin Zainal Abidin said guests registering for the three-day-two-night package will have the chance to participate in the New Year Eve Treasure Hunt which will be held in and outside the hotel.

"It's subject to four people -- two adults and two children. The price for per package is RM798 for an ordinary room and RM898 for a suite.

"Guests must register on Dec 30 and leave on Jan 1, 2013 to be eligible for the treasure hunt. We'll also serve breakfast for our guests," he told reporters.

Muhammad Azrin said treasure hunt participants have to perform certain activities in and outside the hotel as instructed and must complete a "New Year Eve Puzzle" on the second day of the hunt.

The second special package is a dinner reception in the countdown to the new year costing RM114 for a guest or RM1,136 for a group of 10 young diners.

"A 10 per cent discount will be offered to guests making a reservation for three tables. A lucky guest stands a chance to win RM1,188 cash and attractive prizes.

"Zamani Slam and Zaman Khan artistes will mesmerise the guests while they are savouring the sumptuous food and beverages and enjoy the dazzling fireworks to usher in the new year at sharp 12 midnight," he said.

To add merriment to welcome the new year, the hotel's main hall will be transformed into a "virgin rainforest" under a global theme depicting jungle exploration.

"Guests who opt for the dinner package are to wear a theme shirt as a special prize awaits them," he added.
