Malaysia's number one men's doubles pair Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong are now the world number one men's doubles pair according to the list issued by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) today.
BWF in its latest world ranking list stated that V Shem-Wee Kiong had accumulated 71,297 points followed by China's Chai Biao/Hong Wei in second place with 70,220 and Danish pair of Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen (67,534) in third.
After winning the silver medal at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, V Shem-Wee Kiong clinched the Denmark Open title on Oct 24.
According to the website http://www.bwfbadminton.org, national men's singles champion Datuk Lee Chong Wei remains the world's number one player with 93,503 points while national mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying are currently fourth in the world with 67,060 points. -- BERNAMA
