The daughter of Brazilian football legend Pele on Friday said her father is doing well and responding positively to treatment for infection, Xinhua news agency reported.
Pele spent his second day in an intensive care unit on Friday after being admitted to Sao Paulo's Albert Einstein Hospital on Monday with a urinary tract infection.
"He is very well and he is responding well to treatment," Flavia Carvalho was quoted as saying by news portal Uol.
"There is no crisis and he is not in serious condition. He is getting the treatment he needs, that's all," she said.
Earlier on Friday, a hospital statement said Pele was "receiving temporary kidney support, is lucid and has no need of breathing support".
The three-time World Cup winner was released from Albert Einstein Hospital on Nov 13 after undergoing surgery to remove kidney stones.
Pele has undergone surgery for a detached retina and a hip replacement over the past decade.
