Malaysian squash queen Datuk Nicol David won the SRAM Women's Squash Invitational 2016 title Sunday - making it a good start before the new season begins at Hong Kong Open next month.

Nicol, who is ranked world's number four, continued her impressive performances in the final match and took only 28 minutes to beat India's Joshpa Chinnapa in a straight set at National Squash Centre, Bukit Jalil.

The Penangite won 11-6, 11-6 and 11-4.

"Every win is definitely like a bonus for me...I'm so happy to put my game together each day to get sharper and stronger.

"I'm so looking forward to the upcoming season," she told reporters after the match.

Nicol said she was ready to regain the world number one spot after holding it for an unprecedented nine years (109-months) since 2006 before losing it in September 2015.
