Malaysian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, Nik ‘The Hound’ Harris won his fight against USA’s Brad Robinson in ONE Fighting Championship (ONE FC) ‘Honor & Glory’ in Singapore on Friday.

The 24-year-old Kelantanese dominated the cage with his cautious strikes, bringing the fight all the way to the third round of the catchweight bout.

However, in the second round, an accidental knee to Robinson’s groin, caused the referee to stop the fight for two minutes.

Things went back in action when Robinson retaliated with a number of furious strikes but Nik managed to dodge some of those jabs.

When the fight ended in the third round, two out of three judges voted Nik as the victor for the bout.

Nik, when met earlier said he will not give up until his opponent is down. He also dedicated his win to the people of Malaysia.

"Ore Kelate ni degil dia lain macam sikit. (The Kelantanese have a strange kind of stubbornness)," he said, adding that the stubbornness was what kept him going.

Nik is also a Muay Thai practitioner who trains at MuayFit in Petaling Jaya and Phuket Top Team in Phuket, Thailand.

Meanwhile, another Malaysian, Raymond Tan lost his fight against Singapore’s Radeem Rahman in the bantamweight division bout.

Tan had a good start in the beginning of the fight, but failed to defend himself in the second round, causing Radeem to dominate him and land numerous strikes on Tan’s head.

The situation resulted in the referee putting a stop to the fight, and pronouncing Radeem as the winner.

Tan, when met after the fight, said he was suffering from a bad fever and flu two weeks and had skipped some of the training sessions due to his illness.

He admitted that the illness did affect his performance in the fight which resulted in him not realising that he had fallen into his opponent’s game.

However, he thanked all Malaysians for giving their support despite not being able to win the bout.

For the heavyweight bout, the fight between Chi Lewis Parry from the United Kingdom and Alain Ngalani from Hong Kong was stopped and considered a non-contest due to an accidental strike by Parry to Ngalani’s groin.
