‘Karate Hottie’ Michelle Waterson believes that her target to become UFC’s first ‘mom champ’ will be achieved as early as next year.
The 33-year-old American said her upcoming bout with former UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will determine who is going to be the next strawweight title challenger.
“Definitely my win against Joanna will be give advantage to fight for strawweight title, that’s for sure.
“I think as early as next year,” she said when contacted recently.
Waterson said her skills have also improved since her last two fights, and her fight camp is also going on very well.
“I feel great. A lot has happened during this training camp and it made me stronger,” said the former Invicta FC atomweight champion.

Admitting that her opponent is a great striker, Waterson said all she needs to do is control Jedrzejczyk’s own advantage that would subsequently allow her to control the game.
“Joanna was the longest reigning straw weight champion. But in my last two fights, I’ve grown and improved a lot,” she said.
Scheduled to take place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida in the United States, UFC Fight Night 161 will see Waterson and Jedrzejczyk headlining the event in a strawweight bout.
Waterson, an American freestyle karate black belt has a 17-6 record in professional mixed martial art (MMA).
