Malaysia cruised past Singapore 2-0 in a Group B Istaf Super Series match at the Titiwangsa Indoor Stadium, here on Wednesday.

The Malaysian men's team was represented by Izurin Refin, Muqlis Borhan, Hanafiah Dolah, Syahir Rosdi and Khairul Zaman Hamir while Daniel Feriza Padzli, Farhan Aman, Ahmad Suffiyan, Hafiz Nor Izam and Nurirwan Mazlan headed the Singapore challenge.

National coach Jamaluddin Hassan said he was happy with the performance of his boys but lamented on the lack of technique in service.

"The first set was rather easy because the services were good but the technique of service was not effective leading to numerous mistakes.

In the women's competition, Malaysia edged Japan 2-0 in a Group C match through Noor Fairuz Azizan, Nor Farhana Isnail, Rahilah Harun, Nurul Izzatul Hikmah Zulkifli and Emilia Eva Natasha Saudia.
