Arsenal and France right-back Bacary Sagna has been ruled out for three weeks with a hamstring injury.
The 30-year-old sustained the injury during Tuesday night's Champions League victory against Napoli and, while it was originally feared he would only miss two weeks, medical tests have confirmed a longer lay-off.
Quoted on Arsenal's official Twitter feed, manager Arsene Wenger told a pre-match press conference on Friday: "Sagna will be not be available, he has a hamstring injury and will be out for three weeks."
If the extent of the injury is confirmed by the French national team's medical staff, Sagna will not be able to play in the friendly against Australia in Paris on October 11 or in their final World Cup qualifying fixture against Finland on October 15.
He was named in coach Didier Deschamps' national squad for the games on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Spanish winger Santi Cazorla is also out of contention for Arsenal's Premier League clash with West Bromwich Albion on Sunday due to an ankle problem.
