ANNUAR: Has FAM become so invincible that they don't have to be transparent in their earning?
Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) president Tan Sri Annuar Musa lambasted the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for the latter’s ‘unfair’ distribution of the proceeds from the FA Cup final match.
Annuar was furious over the fact that Kelantan only received RM600,000 of the total RM3 million ticket earnings.
More disappointing, he said, his side had helped sold 90 percent of the tickets.
“Early on, FAM had already reaped RM1 million for ‘levies’,” he said on his Facebook.
He also questioned why Singapore was given a huge sum of the proceeds.
“In the MoU (memorandum of understanding) between FAM and the Singapore football association (FAS), Singapore (Lions XII) as a guest team should not have been given monetary reward but a mere token.
“For Kelantan, we spent hundreds of thousands of ringgit to ensure the final’s success whereas Singapore didn’t do a thing,” he argued.
Annuar also criticised FAM for using their own formula to profit from the match’s tickets sales.
“Why did the FAM decide on their own formula for distribution without the shareowners?
“Why isn’t FAM transparent in their calculations? Have they become so invincible?
“In all their aggravation, they can still be so thick-skinned to sit where they are and continue to ruin Malaysian football,” Annuar added.
A total of 80,000 tickets priced at RM40 (adults) and RM5 (children) had been allocation for the FA Cup final between ‘The Red Warriors’ and Lions XII.
In the May 23 match played at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Lions XII won 3-1.
