The Kuala Lumpur City Day Boxing Tournament 2013 now being held at Titiwangsa Stadium here will serve as a platform to gauge the performance of national boxers for selection to the Sea Games in Myanmar in December.

Kuala Lumpur Amateur Boxing Association secretary Major (Rtd) K.Nambiar said the six-day competition that ends on Wednesday, was aimed at scouting for new talents for the regional sporting event.

'From this championship, we will assess the capability of national boxers," he said.

He hopes both the new and senior boxers would use the opportunity to impress and represent the country to the Sea Games in Myanmar.

Foreign boxers participating in the championship include those from Brunei, Hong Kong, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore and Uzbekistan, he added.
