Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir today lambasted Parti Amanah Negara Perak deputy chairman Datuk Seri Ir Nizar Jamaluddin for allegedly continuing to make baseless accusations against the Barisan Nasional government.
He said the former Perak menteri besar had continued to make allegations and raised issues which had been clarified by the government.
"I see him making endless attacks and allegations, even in the month of Ramadan," he told reporters after chairing a meeting on the Kuala Kangsar by-election machinery here.
Zambry was commenting on an allegation by Nizar at a public talk in Kampung Sayong Lembah yesterday that Zambry had given land to his cronies.
Nizar was quoted on the social media as saying that Allah wanted the people of Kuala Kangsar to 'teach' (defeat) BN in the Kuala Kangsar by-election.
On the allegation that the state government had given 45,324 hectares of land to certain parties, Zambry said this had been clarified in the Perak State Assembly meeting.
"The opposition parties have run out of ideas, that is why they are making allegations," Zambry said.
He urged voters in the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary constituency not to be influenced by the claims of the opposition.
The Kuala Kangsar by-election is being held following the death of its MP Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad in a helicopter crash in Sarawak on May 5.
It is a four-cornered fight among BN, PAS, Parti Amanah Negara and an Independent.
The Kuala Kangsar constituency has 32,949 voters.
