"AS long as I am able, I want to correct the situation of the Malays."

Former prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, said this in a special interview with Sinar Harian published today.

He said that after he ceased to be prime minister, it was not his own fate that mattered but the focus to improve the situation of the Malays.

The Langkawi MP said he saw it as a satisfaction and was ready to serve the community if requested by the people.

“It is not the position of the prime minister that matters. The Prime Minister's position is important to enable us to have power. More important is to overthrow a kleptocratic government.

“That is why I shall observe the situation. If it is possible, I will play a small role if requested by the public," he added.
