Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's support towards Parti Amanah Negara will not affect PAS, said PAS's vice-president Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad.

He said the Islamic party had always fought against Dr Mahathir.

"So, for us, there is no difference. We will stand by our struggles," said Iskandar who is also the PAS Selangor Commissioner.

Asked to comment on PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang who yesterday admitted Dr Mahathir met him three months ago to discuss a plan to topple Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Iskandar said the party will always reject Barisan Nasional.

"There is no doubt about it. PAS rejects the current system, not just Najib's administration but also Barisan Nasional as a whole," he added.

Abdul Hadi yesterday said he rejected Dr Mahathir's offer as he regarded it would not be beneficial to him or the party.

"PAS does not oppose any individual..does not oppose a person but (oppose) the concept and policy. If a person is changed but the policy and approach are the same, nothing changes," Abdul Hadi told reporters.
