Minister of Communications and Multimedia Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak wants Kota Belud Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders to be united and work closely with one another towards wresting the Kadamaian state seat which it lost in the last general election.
In making the call, he stressed the importance of unity and solidarity among BN members at all levels to ensure victory for the BN in Kadamaian, which falls under the Kota Belud parliamentary constituency.
“Forget all that happened during the 13th election. Our chances to win back the Kadamaian seat is at risk if BN party members there are disunited.
"That's why all BN leaders and members in Kadamaian need to be united and work hard to realise our mission in the 14th general election," he said.
Salleh, who is also Kota Belud BN chairman and Kota Belud Umno divisio head, said this in his message to leaders of Kota Belud BN component parties, particularly from Kadamaian at a special meeting here today.
Also present were Kota Belud UMNO Division deputy chief Datuk Musbah Jamli, Kadamaian assemblyman Jeremy Malajad, who is also Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) Kadamaian division head, UPKO Kota Belud division chief Ewon Benedick and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) head Dimis Rumanti.
In the 13th general election, Jeremy won the Kadamaian state seat on a Parti Keadilan Rakyat ticket with a 889-vote majority in a four-cornered contest.
Later, Jeremy resigned from PKR before joining PBRS.
