Pengkalan Kubor: PKR gives way to PAS candidate

PKR had agreed to give up the Pengkalan Kubor seat in Kelantan to PAS to contest in the by-election.

PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the decision was taken as there is a need for compromise, understanding and magnanimity among Pakatan Rakyat allies.

“To face the Barisan Nasional, the bond in Pakatan Rakyat must be strengthened and I believe this can only be done with compromise, understanding and magnanimity,” she said in a press statement today.

PKR had contested and lost the seat twice.

The Election Commission (EC) had set Sept 13 for nomination and voting on Sept 25.
