KUALA LUMPUR: The strength of a party lies in the support of the grassroots and does not depend on the migration of its elected representatives.
Political analyst from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Dr Mazlan Ali, explained Amanah and PKR parties themselves have a bright future in national politics because of their dynamic, pragmatic nature and expressing the needs, thoughts and desires of the people.
"I believe that the concept of leadership orientation brought by these two parties will enable them to get support from Malaysians, especially young people who will participate in politics and democratic celebration at least in July this year.
"Those aged 18 and above until 20 years will join politics as a voter.
"I believe these two parties will continue to have similarities in the context of their struggle towards GE-15," he said during a video conference on Sunday.
He was commenting on the action of Senggarang State Assemblyman from Amanah, Khairuddin A. Rahim who was confirmed joining PKR.
Khairuddin confirmed the matter in a statement on Saturday and explained that he has joined PKR Batu Pahat branch.
In the meantime, Dr Mazlan said, the migration of the people's representative is personal and will not affect the relationship between Amanah and PKR.
In fact, he explained, they will probably see a more appropriate, better strategy besides the leadership will meet the needs and aspirations of the grassroots of their respective parties to face GE15.
