UMNO Youth Head Khairy Jamaluddin said all members of the movement must remain united to become a strong team.
Giving the example of UMNO Youth vice-head Khairul Azwan Harun, the Youth and Sports Minister said he was initially treated with suspicion, after he was advised he showed unity for the party.
"We should not be talking about unity only in this hall. In politics there must be unity. He (Khairul Azwan) has started to prove his unity.
"The unity is not because he wants something but he wants to show that we are together, together with the president (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak). Azwan has proven his unity until the president acknowledges it," he said in his winding-up speech at the 2016 UMNO Youth General Assembly, on Wednesday.
He urged the party to organise a course for all Youth heads at all levels to strengthen the wing's leadership.
Earlier, Khairul Azwan when winding-up the debate at the assembly urged UMNO Youth to understand the working style of the opposition especially the DAP which had succeeded in influencing Chinese voters during the 12th and 13th general elections.
He said if DAP politics was allowed to influence the minds of Chinese voters, then the national landscape of politics based on racial understanding would be eroded.
"The DAP is determined to rewrite the history of this country and cause destruction through foreign intervention. The DAP has worked hard to create chaos," he said.
He urged all Barisan Nasional component parties to share the responsibility of meeting the people to gain support for the GE14.
"What is the point of power-sharing without sharing the responsibility, the responsibility of making joint decisions. Do not just let UMNO bear the burden, after winning, they shout for positions," he stressed. -- BERNAMA
