PAS Youth chief Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz openly criticised party leaders who were disheartened and had no faith in the party leadership to leave it.

The Pasir Mas member of parliament said that would be the best solution to resolving the crisis PAS was facing now.

In fact, he said, these leaders will not gain extra points if they remained in the party but failed to perform their responsibilities well.

"Many have asked me, how can the PAS' internal issues be quickly resolved. I replied - if the 'disease' (PAS leaders) leave on their own, there is no need for 'surgery'", he said in his Facebook account on Friday.

He said leaders who were dissatisfied with the party and tried to destroy it from inside were not being honest and responsible.

PAS was now in a crisis with a group of former leaders who failed to be elected during the 61st PAS general assembly recently setting up a non-governmental organisation, the Gerakan Harapan Baru to replace PAS in the new opposition coalition to be formed.
