TENGKU ADNAN: We want to fix the party, we don't want to have any troublemakers or 'termites' within the party.
The investigation paper on seven UMNO leaders who were probed for making statements which 'shouldn't have been made in public' have been completed.
UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said his side, however, has yet to take further action as the matter needed to be referred to the Disciplinary Board first.
"We want to fix the party, we don't want to have any troublemakers or 'termites' within the party.
"The investigation paper is ready, just that we have yet to finalise on the action to be taken seeing that the report needs to be forwarded to the President's Council and then to the UMNO Disciplinary Board.
"Only the Disciplinary Board can decide on the action to be taken, according to the party constitution," he told newsmen after officiating the ground-breaking ceremony of the Taman Ulu Pudu Phase II development here today.
Tengku Adnan, who is also Federal Territories Minister, declined to name the seven 'UMNO termites'.
"Like I've said before, I won't reveal their names because that would be unfair.
"We can suspend their membership and the posts they're holding," he added.
Meanwhile, the Taman Ulu Pudu Phase II development, spanning some 33 acres, is expected to be completed on Aug 7, 2016 – 48 weeks after it commenced last Sept 7.
