Do not add to the burden of the people with political issues when they are burdened with economic issues and COVID-19 to the extent that some are fired, their salaries cut, they do not return to see their wives and children and lose family members.
The advice was voiced by Sembrong Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein who stressed that if the country's politics continues to be unstable, the government's efforts for the people these past few months will be in vain.
He stressed that the President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be ashamed because he made plans to change the government when the country was still at war with the virus.
"He did not care at all about the people's concerns but only think of the personal interests of those who want to be in power as Prime Minister. Enough is enough. The people are tired of all these plays.
“For more than 20 years, the country has had to go through a political crisis just because Anwar Ibrahim wants to be the Prime Minister. It does not benefit the country at all," he said in a statement on Thursday.
He added that no matter what happens, the Cabinet and government MPs must give their full support to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
“Let us not be important members of the government, enjoy the advantages gained but at the same time do not support the leadership.
“This must be a reminder by all the Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Heads of GLCs (government-linked companies) appointed.
“However, if there are members of the government who are determined not to support the current government leadership, it is better to withdraw from the government. We must focus on rebuilding the country, not a detrimental political drama,” he said.
In the same statement, the former UMNO vice-president also reminded UMNO not to entertain Anwar's propaganda.
“I see the purpose of yesterday's press conference is to divert attention, especially ahead of polling day in the Sabah State Election (PRN) in a few days.
"It seems to want to confuse and instill the people's concern for the stability of the Federal Government.
“UMNO must be wary of Anwar's tactics and aware of the dangers of supporting him. This is because it will only open the opportunity for DAP to be more powerful in this country,” he said.
