A member of the UMNO Supreme Council, Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani is wishing former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad all the best in his endeavour to form a new coalition.

Johari, who is also the Second Finance Minister, said Malaysia was a democratic country and anyone could set up a new party.

"We never stop anyone from setting up a new party," he told reporters when attending the Petronas Group's Hari Raya open house here today, hosted by the group's chairman, group chief executive officer and members of the executive leadership team.

Dr Mahathir announced recently that the new coalition would feature DAP, PKR, Parti Amanah Negara, and a soon-to-be formed political party.
