11th Sarawak Election: Assembly dissolution notice to be submitted to EC today - Speaker

The Sarawak legislative assembly dissolution notice will be submitted to the Election Commission (EC) today, said its speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar here, today.

The notice said Mohd Asfia has been faxed and the original copy (of the notice) would be sent out via courier later today.

“I’ve sent the notice via fax this morning while the original copy would be couriered today. Moving forward, we will leave to the EC to decide on the nomination date and the polling date for the 11th Sarawak Election,” he said.

The election process, according to EC provisions, boasts the authority to decide on both the nomination date and the polling date apart from coordinating matters concerning the state election.

The chief minister, Tan Sri Adenan Satem during a press conference announced Thursday that the state legislative assembly will be dissolved on April 11 to pave the way for the 11th state election.
