All Umno Youth leaders have been advised not to 'sulk' if they are not selected to stand for election in the 13th general election (GE13), said Umno Youth head Khairy Jamaluddin.
In his 'Facebook' website, Khairy said what was important was the commitment to ensure solid victory for the Barisan Nasional (BN).
"I accept whatever decision made by BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. If asked to contest, I will abide by the decision, if asked to withdraw, I will also accept it," he said.
This was the time for every youth leader to prove through their practices and action on what had always been said about solidarity and loyalty in the party, he said.
Khairy said what was important was not position but the intention to serve the people and their effectiveness in bringing improvement to the people because he was convinced that if the BN was strong, the people would also be more confident in giving a big mandate to BN in the GE13.
He said they could also use the experience he had gained from being Umno Youth head for four years as an example.
"I am the national Umno Youth head, with the rank of Umno vice-president, but I am not appointed into the Cabinet.
"This has become a subject of mockery for me by my political enemies.
Nonetheless, I have never known the meaning of the word sad, disappointment, anger or sulk," he added.
