Pas secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali has denied ‘reports’ published by several blogs which allegedly quoted him saying that he has resigned from his party following the circulation of a sex video purportedly involving him.
“I can't be bothered to entertain the media because of the lies, there are blogs that say I have resigned as PAS secretary-general because of the video,” said Mustafa.
"I am still alive and still PAS secretary-general. I am not affected by this. I understand the newspapers,” he added.
According to Bernama, Mustafa was speaking to reporters during a function at the PAS headquarters in Kampung Molek, Dungun, Terengganu last night.
Mustafa had reportedly attempted to evade the media right after the event.
“I’ve already said earlier, I do not want to say anything, I’ve already handed this matter over to my lawyer, that’s all and it’s not worth commenting on,” he said, before getting into his car and leaving.
He had also accused Umno as being desperate enough to lie in order to drop him from the country's political arena.
Ketua Penerangan UMNO, Datuk Ahmad Maslan, in a statement said that such an accusation was unfair. “Even if bicycle tyres was punctured would be Umno’s fault.”
Mustafa had on Friday said that he was not commenting on the issue; while his president, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang described the matter as slanderous and was not to be entertained by the party.
