SHAH ALAM: The Shah Alam Lake Garden will welcome its two latest tourist attractions, the Zip Line Shah Alam and the Musical Fountain Cultural Park this April, following the successful launch of the Selangor-Japan Friendship Garden earlier this month.

Acting Shah Alam Mayor Mohd Rashidi Ruslan said in his speech that the opening of the two attractions this April 1 is aimed to develop and improve local tourism in Shah Alam.

Mohd Rashidi explained that visitors will be able to enjoy the 240-metre zip line activity for free from April 1 to 4 in conjunction with the attraction’s opening.

"The Zip Line Shah Alam will operate from April 1 to 12, starting from 10 am to 6.30 pm (Monday to Friday), 8.30 am to 6.30 pm (Saturday and Sunday), and from April 14 to May 10, from 2 pm to 6.30 pm (Monday to Sunday).

"Shah Alam residents will receive a RM5 discount on tickets, which are priced between RM20 and RM40, throughout the period, while students have to pay only RM20 for two sessions,” he said in his speech during the launch of the Zip Line Shah Alam and Musical Fountain Cultural Park at the Cultural Park yesterday.

Also present at the launch was Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

Meanwhile, Mohd Rashidi said the musical fountain show, located at the West Lake of the gardens, will begin April 2 and the performance will take place every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holiday from 8.15 pm till 10 pm.

He said the fountain show, stretching 30 metres, features a colourful LED lighting system, audio and water movement that changes according to the music.
