Zahid thank Philippines for cooperation

The Malaysian Defence ministry has thanked the Philippines Defence ministry for its cooperation in solving the ongoing violence in East Sabah.
Malaysian Defence minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahidi, in his twitter account, said he has conveyed his gratitude to Philippines Defence Secretary Voltaire Gazmin.

Sy telah mengutus ucapan tkasih kpd Menteri Pertahanan Filipina - Secretary Gazmin di atas kerjasama yg dberikan dlm mslh transboundary ini.

Zahid also tweeted that despite the call for ceasefire by self-proclaimed Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram lll, his followers who are currently in Sabah, failed to do so.

The heirs of the Sulu sultanate yesterday called for a ceasefire between the security forces in Malaysia and their followers still engaged in gunfights in.
The unilateral ceasefire was declared as of 12.30pm yesterday by a spokesperson for the self-proclaimed Kiram, Abraham Idjirani.
According to Idjirani, the ceasefire aims to "avoid more bloodshed and crimes".
