The source said the matter will not be explained by Najib himself but by the minister.
A minister in the Prime Minister’s Department is expected to brief on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue at the Parliament on Thursday.
A source told Astro AWANI, the minister is also expected to brief on the RM2.6 billion which was alleged to have been deposited into the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s personal bank account.
“The Minister will do the briefing but it is not listed in the Standing Order,” the source said.
The source said the matter will not be explained by Najib himself but by the minister.
The 1MDB issue is also listed among the questions and answer session on Thursday.
On Oct 19, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said had said the PM’s Department will reply on Dec 3, which is the last day of this Dewan Rakyat session, to all questions on the RM2.6 billion.
She said it was better to accumulate all the questions on the matter and give the reply on the final day of the meeting.
She said that if the Prime Minister was to reply today, for example, another question might come up the next day and then yet another and it would not end.
She also said it was not stated anywhere in the Standing Orders of the Dewan Rakyat that questions raised in the house must be answered immediately.
