UMNO needs more leaders such as Pulai MP, Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed who has been constantly bold in voicing the truths about the party’s quandary, at present.
Former Batu Kawan UMNO vice-president, Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan said, although Nur Jazlan was appointed for a certain post, his brazen image is merely what's plaguing the party at present.
“The apple polisher culture must not be condoned and eliminated in UMNO. This is crucial for the leaders to obtain the actual picture from grass root to identify clearly the support axis of party members to the top leadership.
“In my opinion, if we are bold enough to tell the truth to top leaders, UMNO will be strengthened because we won’t be spoon fed with inaccurate information of our leaders,” he said in a statement today.
On Wednesday, Nur Jazlan in a blog post said Pakatan Rakyat is no longer a rival of UMNO but instead internal elements within the party itself will contribute to the loss of the party at the 14th General Election.
He stressed that UMNO members are facing similar dilemma in voicing their loyalty towards their leaders or the party.
Nur Jazlan also said that Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is faced with an important situation that has been smeared with administration, financial and family issues.

Khairuddin said the present crop of leaders who are governed by their own principles like Nur Jazlan must be given more roles in UMNO.
“At present, UMNO members themselves must be impressed to see sincere leaders in their struggle.
“Honest leaders in their struggle are made up of those who are bold “without fear and favour” to ensure top leaders to obtain the actual picture to act coherently with accurate information with no manipulative elements that are inaccurate.
“Accurate information within the party is most crucial to ensure UMNO will be seen as relevant until the end of time and remains popular among the rakyat,” he said.
Prior to this, Khairuddin reportedly told concerned quarters to not question his good relationship with former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who has of late, launched a series of open criticisms towards Najib.
