Typhoon Nida affects MAS, AirAsia flights

Malaysia Airlines cancelled flight MH78 from Kuala Lumpur yesterday and MH79 from Hong Kong today due to Typhoon Nida, with reports saying it has weakened to a severe tropical storm.
In a statement, the airline said passengers had been reallocated onto flights MH72 which left Kuala Lumpur at 12.26pm today and MH73 scheduled to depart Hong Kong at 5pm.
"Guests are advised to check their flight status on malaysiaairlines.com or via MHmobile phone application for any latest updates.
Malaysia Airlines flies three times daily between Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, AirAsia rescheduled four flights due to slot availability at Hong Kong International Airport.
They were AK239 from Kota Kinabalu to Hong Kong, AK238 (Hong Kong to Kota Kinabalu), AK135 (Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong) and AK137 (Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur).
"All affected guests will be notified via email or SMS," the low-cost carrier said in a statement.
It advised all guests travelling to and from southern China to check their flight status on the airline's website as well as on Facebook and Twitter.
