IPOH: Two people buried alive in a landslide which struck The Banjaran Hotprings at Tambun, Ipoh were found dead this morning.
Their bodies were found in the jacuzzi room at the villa they stayed.
Perak's acting police chief deputy commissioner Datuk Goh Boon Keng said the first victim, a male, was found at 9.55am. The second victim, a female, was found five minutes after.
"At about 9.55am, both victims were found in the jacuzzi area of the villa. Their bodies, located near each other, were found five minutes apart," Goh said.
The Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) Perak said they received a distress call about the incident at 1.28 am.
It is believed that heavy rain since yesterday triggered a landslide which struck the victim's villa at the resort.
The victims, in their 30s, are Malaysians.
