Tun Mahathir conferred honorary doctorate by UNITEN

Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Sunday was conferred an honorary doctorate in Communications and Technology Management by Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Uniten) in conjunction with its 16th convocation.

Dr Mahathir was conferred the honorary doctorate for his contributions to the development of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) when he was the Prime Minister.

The doctorate was conferred by Uniten Chancellor, Tun Dr Abdul Rahman Abbas.

Two other figures honoured by Uniten were Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye who was conferred an honorary doctorate in Human Resource Development while Prof Datuk Zainul Abidin Md Sharif was elevated to Professor Emeritus.

A total of 1,940 graduates will receive their Masters and Bachelors degrees a the convocation, which began Saturday and ends Tuesday.
