KUALA LUMPUR: PKR President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has denied being involved in a viral audio conversation with UMNO President, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The denial was made by Anwar in his speech at the opening and launching ceremony of the Keadilan Selangor Main Operations Room, on Wednesday night.
In fact, the Opposition Leader also claimed that there are individuals who have a similar voice as his.
“Fraud methods are also becoming increasingly sophisticated. I touched on the issue of the audio, I want to say, this is to use us, to oppose politics in UMNO.
"They want to use the so-called conversation between me and Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi for Bersatu politics," he said in the speech.
Anwar explained that he had also instructed his officers to lodge a police report on the case.
“To stab the UMNO leadership, this is not my job, that is why I will also direct my officers to make a police report, let it be investigated, who is the cause of this.
"But there is a voice like me, I do not care. Apparently, there is an attempt to slander in (ways) they feel are more sophisticated and so that in Keadilan people will ask, DAP or Amanah.
"Fortunately, we are loyal friends, not easily rattled by slanders like this," he said.
