AHMAD RAZIF: Flood simulations have been conducted in flood prone areas and operation manuals have been issued to flood management machinery in all districts.
Terengganu has made thorough preparation to face the monsoon season and floods, which could hit the state at anytime from now.
Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman said flood simulations had been conducted in flood prone areas and operation manuals were issued to flood management machinery in all districts.
"We have experienced three major floods. Last year, Terengganu was named the best state in flood management," he said when met at the Pesona Terengganu Carnival 2015 at Dataran DBKL here yesterday.
Several flood mitigation projects costing RM300 million had also been implemented statewide, while an allocation of RM400,000 was received from the federal government to solve the flood issues in Kemaman, he said.
Razif said 521 relief centres and 162 front bases were also ready, along with food supply and other equipment, including boats.
More than 100,000 volunteers were put alert for deployment at any time, he added.
