Terengganu MB wants solid materials used for the collapsed roof

Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said has ordered strong wood to be used for the Masjid Kampung Tebauk roof .
Ahmad said the third incident involving the collapse of the structure of a building should be taken seriously as it affects the image of the state.
On the early morning of 29 September, the roof of Masjid Kampung Tebauk had collapsed. The collapse affected about 40 per cent of the mosque, which was completed just two years ago with a cost of about RM6 million.
"I feel disappointed because it happened in Terengganu , that's why I am ordering a more solid structure used for the roofing , grade A timber should be used, " he said after attending the State Legislative Assembly ( DUN ) Terengganu at Wisma Darul Iman , yesterday.
He said the state government will identify the weaknesses that have led to three separate incidents involving collapsing of roofs.
"We have directed the MACC to investigate, if there is a misconduct, fraud or whether the construction was not according to specification and there was an improper monitoring of the PWD, " he said.
JKR forensic officers will report the results of the investigation and the contractors will be responsible for all the repair works at the mosque.
This following an agreement of assurance for ten years for the roof of the mosque , which was completed on October 24, 2011 .
On 20 May, the roof of Kampung Binjai Paper, Hulu Terengganu mosque had collapsed. While on October 3, 2009, the roof of Kampung Batu Putih , Kerteh , Kemaman mosque had also collapsed, injuring three people.
