Under the New Terengganu Transformation (TTB) programme, the state government has empowered its
e-complaint system to allow the public to lodge complaints with any government department or agency through short message service (SMS).
Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said the system was placed under a new unit named the Complaint Centre Unit.
He said although the e-complaint system was launched in 2005, it was still a pilot project that would be officiated next month after upgrades were made.
Previously, complaints could only be done through the website, e-mail and telephone.
"The old methods can still be used, but with the new system, complaints can be made through SMS with pictures and at the same time complainants will be able to know the status of their complaint," he said when visiting the e-complaint counter here.
Also present was State Financial Officer Datuk Osman Muda.
Ahmad Razif said 5,806 complaints were received since the system, based in the State Information Management Unit (UPMN), was launched.
