Terengganu adopts Nina Grace to help her learn more about Islam

The Terengganu state government will adopt Nina Grace Woo, 19, a convert to Islam, to help her learn more about Islam.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman said the new convert, whose Muslim name is Nur Nina Farisha, certainly needs support from many quarters for her to better understand Islam.
"She will be given appropriate facilities and guidance by the state government through the Terengganu Religious Affairs Department (JHEAT)," he said.
Nina recited the syahadah (declaration of faith) and became a Muslim in front of an audience of 40,000 during the question and answer session in a talk given by international preacher Dr Zakir Naik at Padang Astaka, Kemaman, on
Thursday.
Nina, who hails from Johor, has a Chinese father and Filipino mother and is studying at Ranaco College, Kemaman.
Her's is the first conversion case since Dr Zakir came to Terengganu to deliver public talks.
Besides Kemaman, Dr Zakir also gave talks at Gong Badak Indoor Stadium, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu and Sekolah Menengah Imtiaz Yayasan Terengganu in Besut.
