Teen found dead in river was victim of violence

A teenager whose body was found floating in Sungai Kerian two days ago, was believed to have been beaten to death.

According to initial police investigations, A. Samuel, 18, was attacked and killed before the body was thrown into the river.

On Tuesday, the victim was reported missing by his mother who resides here.

Seberang Perai Selatan police chief Supt Shafien Mamat said today, the case was classified as murder.
