Teacher wins Proton X70 in SSPN i-Plus 2019 draw

A teacher, Siti Sara Arshad, 53, from Penang won a Proton X70 Premium by winning the top prize in Wow! draw SSPN-i Plus for 2019.

The SUV was presented to Siti Sara by National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) chief executive Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid at a brief ceremony at Proton 4S Centre here today.

According to Siti Sara, she started saving RM300 per month in SSPN since 2018.

"As an SSPN depositor, I am entitled to income tax rebates of up to RM8,000, it is syariah-compliant as well as has takaful protection and death benefits," she said when met at the event, which was also attended by PTPTN chief operating officer Mastura Mohd Khalid.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Dasuki said that in conjunction with this year's Aidilfitri celebration, PTPTN is offering the 'Jom Beraya Jom Menyimpan Bersama SSPN #RayaDiRumah' promotion where depositors will have the chance to win cash prizes of up to RM261,000.

The promotion, which runs from May 18 to June 30, is open to all SSPN depositors.

"For each deposit of RM300, they are qualified for an entry for the draw at the state and national level. Parents can open an SSPN account by visiting www.lovesspn.com website," he said.

Commenting on the performance of the SSPN, he said for the first three months of this year, it was increasing.

"For the first three months of this year, although we were under the Movement Control Order, the total amount of SSPN deposits was RM385.34 million compared to RM250.32 million for the same period last year," he said.
